Not long ago, we received an email from a group of talented mofos that we’re fortunate to call our amigos. We’ve been huge fans of Down I Go from the moment we laid our ears on ‘em and our eyes on their incredible video for A Wasp In Jar.

So, what was in this email you ask? A link – to their final EP, GODS and POSEIDON, a new video
directed by the mighty Adam Powell (if you aren’t familiar with Adam… look up his work now!)

Down I Go’s first video in 2007 was directed by Adam, and only those of you who’ve seen it will know how sick it is when these two forces combine. If you haven’t seen it, we urge you to check it!

This is one of those amazing rare moments when a bunch of talented mofos get together to produce something monumental, totally DIY with basically zero money.

To celebrate the launch of POSEIDON, Down I Go will be hosting a FREE viewing party at the Aubin Cinema in London,  on October 8, where the video will be premiered on the cinema’s biggest screen. The video will also go live online here: www.downigo.com on the same day and shelsmusic will start taking pre-orders for GODS too.

Unfortunately Down I Go will cease to exist after they release their final EP on November 7th.
The EP will be limited to 300 copies on Vinyl and via digital download and will be available at www.shelsmusic.com

On November 7, 2011 shelsmusic will release DOWN I GO’s final EP, Gods.

Formed in 2005 and respected as one of the most innovative hardcore bands of the last decade DOWN I GO have consistently surpassed expectations and defied logic with their chaotic, genre-defying blend of noise-core. Accredited with creating sub-genres such as Disastercore and Robotcore, among others, and with 3 albums, 2 EPs and a trail of other random recordings behind them, DOWN I GO have been an ice cool breeze in a scene that has been drowning in it’s own stink.

Satisfyingly chaotic and therapeutically volatile, DOWN I GO have always been DIY to the core with their self produced recordings, videos and artwork – their focus has always been the music, their loyal cult following and the sharp messages that lay within layers of the noisy, twisted and satirical transmissions. Their final farewell is a sombre event for their peers and fans – and the icing on the cake of an incredible repertoire that will resonate for years to come. And it’s no surprise that after tackling themes like Dictators, Disasters, Dinosaurs and Robots, in previous releases, DOWN I GO have saved the Gods for last.

As with previous releases, Gods is not a simple collection of songs… it’s an event that needs to be appreciated as a whole. Like a play, choreographed by lunatics at an insane asylum it shrieks and twists chaotically. Press play and DOWN I GO will take you down with them… and wherever that is… it’s frikkin’ awesome. Gods will crush your face and rearrange your brain molecules – in a good way. Charlie Sheen has nightmares about getting his pussy destroyed by this band.

DOWN I GO will release their final self produced EP, Gods on Nov 7^th through Shelsmusic. Pre-orders will go on sale on October 7th. The release will be a limited edition pressing on Vinyl and digital only and available at www.shelsmusic.com. The group have also completed a video with Director Adam Powell, which will be released on October 7.

Joined this time by Mehdi Safa (of *shels and Mahumodo) on vocals and Crydebris drummer Daniel Hoang  – ANCIENTS will unleash their debut 3-track single through Shelsmusic this September. And it’s no surprise that the group’s debut features such track titles as ‘Constellations’ and ‘De Stella Nova’ (the new star) to describe the fusion of unique elements that have come together to create a heavy musical journey like nothing before.

As ‘Constellations’ patiently unravels, it’s not long before you realise that something new
and monumental is on the verge of being delivered – and then it explodes into what feels like the soundtrack  to the birth of a thousand stars. It’s clear that ANCIENTS have not only retained the emotion and blistering power of all their past and present incarnations – but have also refined, transcended and perfected the art of making heavy music. But, this is more than just “Heavy”, this is colossal, delicate and beautiful – as giant slabs of distorted guitar intertwine with soaring vocals that scream like sirens of light – listeners are left recovering from the overwhelming dose of energy and emotion delivered.

This isn’t just a single – this is a mission statement by a band that are out to reshape music as we know it. ANCIENTS have arrived.

‘Constellations’ will be available as a limited edition single on CD (only 100 hand-screen-
printed copies and Digital.  The group have also started work on an EP that is being produced by Safa and Jonny Renshaw (Devil Sold His Soul). It’s scheduled for release early next year.
